The skin under the eyes is some of the thinnest on the body. PRP placed with a very fine needle supports new collagen there, so the area can look less hollow, less crepey and less tired.
Rated 5 stars by 100 Dublin clientsWhen the skin under the eyes thins, it shows more of what's beneath it: shadow, blood vessels and creases. PRP works on the skin itself, supporting the collagen that gives it thickness.
Because it's made from your own blood, there's nothing foreign placed near your eyes. We use numbing cream, a very fine needle and small amounts, and we treat both the upper and lower eye area.
PRP won't remove puffiness caused by fluid or fat pads under the eye. If that's what's behind your concern, Louise will tell you honestly at your consultation.
Some swelling and small bruises under the eyes are common and usually settle within a few days. Most clients go straight back to their day, though you may prefer not to book anything important straight after.

The tube goes into a centrifuge. Heavy red cells sink to the bottom, and the golden plasma rises to the top, with the platelets gathered just above the red layer.

We draw off the platelet-rich layer of the plasma. This is the PRP: your own plasma, holding far more platelets than the blood it came from.
Platelets carry growth factors, the proteins your body uses to repair itself after a scrape or a cut. When the PRP goes back into your skin or scalp, they release them.
Growth factors dock onto receptors on nearby cells and switch on repair work, including collagen production in the skin and activity around the hair follicle.
In the skin, fibroblasts lay down fresh collagen, so texture and fine lines can improve gradually over the following weeks.
Every treatment now ends with free red light therapy. Red and near-infrared light passes into the skin and scalp, where it's absorbed by the mitochondria: the parts of each cell that make its energy.
We use it to calm the skin after treatment, support circulation and help along the renewal your PRP has started. It's warm and painless, and you just lie back.

Results vary from person to person. Most clients need a course of treatments, and we'll talk you through what's realistic for you at your consultation.

PRP uses your own blood, but it isn't right for everyone. We won't treat you if any of these apply, and we'll ask at your consultation.
