The treatment

Why the neck needs more plasma.

The neck and décolletage cover a bigger area than the face, and the skin there is thinner. Double PRP prepares four tubes of your plasma, so the whole area gets treated, not just the worst of it.

Like the Plasma Glow Facial, it works by supporting new collagen in the skin, so the change builds over the weeks after each session. It finishes with red light therapy.

What it can help with

  • Crepey, thin skin on the neck
  • Horizontal neck lines
  • Sun damage, spots and roughness on the chest
  • Skin that has started to lose firmness

Face and neck together

Double PRP can also cover the face and neck, or face and hair, in one longer visit. For a smaller area of the neck, a single-tube Plasma Glow Facial may be enough. Louise will advise at your consultation.

01 · The draw

It starts with 10–20 ml of you.

A certified phlebotomist takes a small sample from your arm, about the same as a routine blood test. Nothing is added from outside your body.

02 · The spin

Spun until it separates.

The tube goes into a centrifuge. Heavy red cells sink to the bottom, and the golden plasma rises to the top, with the platelets gathered just above the red layer.

03 · The concentrate

Liquid gold, made of platelets.

We draw off the platelet-rich layer of the plasma. This is the PRP: your own plasma, holding far more platelets than the blood it came from.

2–3 µmone platelet
7–8 µmone red cell
04 · Activation

Each platelet is a tiny parcel.

Platelets carry growth factors, the proteins your body uses to repair itself after a scrape or a cut. When the PRP goes back into your skin or scalp, they release them.

TGF-βgrowth factor
05 · The signal

A message your cells already understand.

Growth factors dock onto receptors on nearby cells and switch on repair work, including collagen production in the skin and activity around the hair follicle.

06 · Renewal

Then your body does the rest.

In the skin, fibroblasts lay down fresh collagen, so texture and fine lines can improve gradually over the following weeks.

07 · Red light

Then we finish with red light.

Every treatment now ends with free red light therapy. Red and near-infrared light passes into the skin and scalp, where it's absorbed by the mitochondria: the parts of each cell that make its energy.

We use it to calm the skin after treatment, support circulation and help along the renewal your PRP has started. It's warm and painless, and you just lie back.

Your appointment

About an hour, start to finish.

  1. Consultation

We look closely at your skin or scalp, talk through your goals, and check PRP is right for you.

  2. Blood draw

A small sample is taken from your arm by a certified phlebotomist.

  3. Centrifuge

The sample is spun to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of your blood.

  4. Preparation

We prepare the PRP, with any add-ons in your plan. For face, under-eye and neck treatments, numbing cream takes effect while you wait.

  5. Treatment

The PRP is placed into the area with a very fine needle.

  6. Free red light therapy

You finish under a red light panel, free with every treatment. It's warm and painless, and helps calm the skin after the injections.

  7. Aftercare

Some redness or swelling is normal and usually settles within a few days. We'll tell you exactly what to avoid.

Before you come in
  • No alcohol or recreational drugs the day before your appointment.
  • Eat normally and drink plenty of water, as it makes the blood draw easier.
  • Tell us about any medication you take, especially blood thinners or anti-inflammatories.

What's the difference between Double PRP and the Plasma Glow Facial?

Double PRP uses four tubes of your plasma, so there's enough to treat larger areas like the neck and décolletage, or the face and hair together. It takes up to two hours.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients have a course of 3. Louise will recommend yours at your consultation.

Can I treat my face and neck in one visit?

Yes. That's one of the most common reasons clients book Double PRP.

Does it hurt?

You may feel some mild stinging during the injections. For face, under-eye and neck treatments we use numbing cream to keep you comfortable. Hair treatments are done without it. Afterwards you may have some redness, swelling or bruising, which usually settles within a few days.

Is it safe?

PRP is made from your own blood, so there's very little risk of an allergic reaction. It isn't right for everyone, though, which is why we ask some health questions first. If you're pregnant, have a blood disorder or are having cancer treatment, we won't treat you.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, if you're new to us. The consultation costs €50 and takes about an hour. Louise checks PRP is right for you and builds your plan, and if you go ahead, the €50 comes off your first treatment.
