A certified phlebotomist takes a small sample from your arm, about the same as a routine blood test. Nothing is added from outside your body.
A hair transplant moves follicles. PRP supports the scalp they grow in. Many of our clients come to us in the months after surgery, and some come before it.
Rated 5 stars by 100 Dublin clientsTransplanted follicles go through a lot: moved, settled, then shed before the new hair grows. PRP supports the scalp and blood supply around them through that time.
It can also help the hair around your grafts, which may still be thinning. That's why many clients carry on with PRP after their transplant has settled.
Your surgeon's advice comes first. We'll start when they say your grafts are secure, so please bring your surgery date and aftercare notes to your consultation.

The tube goes into a centrifuge. Heavy red cells sink to the bottom, and the golden plasma rises to the top, with the platelets gathered just above the red layer.

We draw off the platelet-rich layer of the plasma. This is the PRP: your own plasma, holding far more platelets than the blood it came from.
Platelets carry growth factors, the proteins your body uses to repair itself after a scrape or a cut. When the PRP goes back into your skin or scalp, they release them.
Growth factors dock onto receptors on nearby cells and switch on repair work, including collagen production in the skin and activity around the hair follicle.
In the skin, fibroblasts lay down fresh collagen, so texture and fine lines can improve gradually over the following weeks.
Every treatment now ends with free red light therapy. Red and near-infrared light passes into the skin and scalp, where it's absorbed by the mitochondria: the parts of each cell that make its energy.
We use it to calm the skin after treatment, support circulation and help along the renewal your PRP has started. It's warm and painless, and you just lie back.

Results vary from person to person. Most clients need a course of treatments, and we'll talk you through what's realistic for you at your consultation.

Shedding of transplanted hairs in the first months is a normal part of the process. PRP doesn't stop it, but it supports the scalp while the new hairs grow.
