A certified phlebotomist takes a small sample from your arm, about the same as a routine blood test. Nothing is added from outside your body.
Louise started Plasma Therapy after PRP helped her own hair loss, which began with stress after losing her mother. She knows how it feels to watch your parting widen.
Rated 5 stars by 100 Dublin clientsWomen rarely lose hair at the hairline. More often it's a parting that slowly widens, a ponytail that feels thinner, or more hair in the brush after a stressful time.
PRP places growth factors from your own platelets into the scalp, where they support the follicles and the blood supply around them. It's gradual, so a course of sessions matters.
If shedding is sudden or heavy, we may suggest blood tests with your GP before treatment, as iron or thyroid levels can play a part. And we don't treat during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

The tube goes into a centrifuge. Heavy red cells sink to the bottom, and the golden plasma rises to the top, with the platelets gathered just above the red layer.

We draw off the platelet-rich layer of the plasma. This is the PRP: your own plasma, holding far more platelets than the blood it came from.
Platelets carry growth factors, the proteins your body uses to repair itself after a scrape or a cut. When the PRP goes back into your skin or scalp, they release them.
Growth factors dock onto receptors on nearby cells and switch on repair work, including collagen production in the skin and activity around the hair follicle.
In the skin, fibroblasts lay down fresh collagen, so texture and fine lines can improve gradually over the following weeks.
Every treatment now ends with free red light therapy. Red and near-infrared light passes into the skin and scalp, where it's absorbed by the mitochondria: the parts of each cell that make its energy.
We use it to calm the skin after treatment, support circulation and help along the renewal your PRP has started. It's warm and painless, and you just lie back.

PRP uses your own blood, but it isn't right for everyone. We won't treat you if any of these apply, and we'll ask at your consultation.

No. We don't treat during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Shedding after having a baby often settles by itself, and we're happy to see you once you've finished breastfeeding.

Hair needs a course and some patience. Most clients start with 3 sessions a few weeks apart, then top up. Louise will plan the spacing at your consultation.
Hair grows slowly, so changes take months rather than weeks. Many clients first notice less shedding, then thicker hair over time.
You may feel some mild stinging during the injections. For face, under-eye and neck treatments we use numbing cream to keep you comfortable. Hair treatments are done without it. Afterwards you may have some redness, swelling or bruising, which usually settles within a few days.
